Haunted Coats appears as invisible, ghost-like beings that have taken possession of clothing, making them visible as they wear them and float around. The clothes consist of a large green coat with several patches and white, frilly cufflinks and a large brown hat with a feather and a white wig under it.
A Haunted Coat's behavior is very unlike other most ghoulies in the game. Haunted Coats will wander aimlessly around and approach Cooper before smacking him with their sleeve (or arm), decreasing 2 energy and leaving him temporarily stunned for a brief moment. They do not attack in any organized fashion. They instead smack him once, wander off to a different area, home in and hit Cooper again, and the cycle continues. Additionally, whenever Cooper hits one, the coat will fly out of his reach, requiring him to walk over to hit them again. It is best to corner them to keep them in reach.
A unique property belonging to Haunted Coats is that in certain levels, another ghouly will spawn from them upon their demise.
Haunted Coats do not have a fear response, but they will clap their sleeves together in joy at Cooper's dismay.
